You can also enter a simple description of the part. If you find too many selections from your query, make your request more specific to reduce the number of repsonses to your search. DETAILS ON HOW TO USE THE SEARCH ENGINE

This search engine is like many others on the Internet. Input a "search string" and it will return the information that matches the "string". The string is not case sensitive so you may use either upper or lower case letters. A searacters. For example, T, TS, TS-, TS-5, TS-57, TS-570, TS-570S, are all valid search strings. Dashes are no longer required in the field.Use a search string with or without the special characters discussed below, to obtain the results you want. The HRO search engine allows you to input a string in one or more field s. You need not fill in all fields. HINT: Fill in as little information as possible to get the greatest number of matches, or fill in the greatest amount of information to get the least number of matches.
  • Manufacturer: complete or partial allowed eg. Ic, Icom .. will show Icom, Y for Yaesu etc
  • Model Number: complete or partial allowed
  • Description: eg. any character string in the HRO description such as "soft case", "tape", etc. (leave off the quotes)
  • Type Codes: Reserved for future use
  • Number of Items To Return: Select 10 (default), 1, 5, 25, 50, 100 will equal the maximum number of items output
  • Output Options: You may select "line output" which will return the results in a single line format, or accept the default paragraph output
  • Special Characters for Searching: The following special characters (leave off the quotes) will allow you to do special type searches
  • "^", this means the character following the "^" will be at the beginning of the line, eg. ^TS-570, the TS will be at the beginning of the line of any search results
  • "|", this is an "or" search, eg. ^TS-570|^TS-870 will return both items
  • "?", wild card, match any character
  • "*", character immediately preceding the * happens 0 or more times, eg. 10*1 matches 11, 101, 1001, etc
  • "[ ]", these are character "or"s, eg.^TS-[58]70 will match TS-570, TS-870
It is nearly impossible to illustrate all combinations. Try a few times and you will soon be searching like a "pro". When you have entered your search string press "search". Press clear to erase your string(s). Use the tab key to move from one field to another.

Examples, in the "Model Number" field:

  • ^TS870, will return information on the Kenwood TS-870S and the Kenwood TS-870S/AT
  • TS870, will return the above as well as any other match with the string TS870 such as SM-TS-870.
  • ^IC-7, will return all Icom models beginning with IC-7, eg. IC-706, IC-7800, IC-756PROIII, etc.
