The vehicle dash mounting bracket included with the radio would presumably be mounted in the vehicle and in any case is not suitable for desktop operation.
Using a suction cup holder on a desk top is not very convenient and unless the desktop has a very smooth surface (like glass) the suction cup tends to loose its vacuum and fall over. This problem was experienced with both wood and Formica desk tops.
To solve this problem Nifty developed a desk stand that is similar in appearance to the popular KX3 desk stand.
The radio's control head mounts to the stand using the fastener supplied for mounting to the mobile mount included with the radio.
