Charles Wyrick (SK)

In Memorium

It is with tremendous sorrow that we say goodbye as we mourn the loss of one of dear friends and HRO senior family member, Charles Lee Wyrick N1UC (Uncle Chuck).

His faith, love of family, and kindness to others were the foundations of his life. Charles will be lovingly remembered by his beautiful wife, Bridget, of 61 years; children, Dr. Kathleen (John) Burgess, Michael (Teresa) Wyrick, Michelle (Eric) Amtmann, and Karen (MSgt Patrick) Hood; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jake (Olga), Camilla, Jim, Ryan, Nate, Kaila, and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Silas, Theodore, and Max; brother, Jim (Linda) Wyrick; in-laws whom he loved dearly, Richard (Barb) Finley, Annie Finley, Joann Swanson, Janet (Barry) Roghair, Miriam (Bill) Malone, and Richard Hartwell; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.

Chuck started with the HRO family in 1989 and held the position of National Operations Manager from 2007 until his retirement in 2017.

Chuck brought Ham Radio Outlet (HRO) into the 21st century by implementing a significantly complicated networked Point of Sale application which connected all retail locations via a multi-leg hub spoke Virtual Private Network. This VPN was done many years ago when building VPN's was not an easy task as it is today. This system allowed the sharing of all sales and inventory control data across the entire chain. This system is still in use today and allows any location to utilize stock and sales information from any other location. This system also included a extremely complicated algorithm for ordering product which can be completed in a semi-automatic process allowing the computer to recommend the amount to be ordered for our store stock in most cases.

Chuck was very well known in the amateur community and was a significant contributor to the hobby. He has held the position of control operator of AO-27 along with his son Michael N3UC.

Visitation will be held September 18, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m., and September 19, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Seneca, WI. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on September 19, 2026, at St. Patrick's with Father John Swing officiating. Burial will follow. Luncheon following; all are welcome.

Good Bye friend! We will all be listening for you long path.

The Entire HRO Family
