Mount on vehicle at a sensible location appropriately:
- A variety of 3/8”-24 thread sturdy mount types are available on the market.
- Limit horizontally adjacent near field parasitic interaction
- Keep antenna substantially above nearby metal.
Always check SWR; operate only per transmitter specifications.
69” tall - Tuning can be done by adjusting whip position in Ferrule, or trimming whip.
SWR Frequency Range Varies with Vehicle Construct, and where on the vehicle the antenna is mounted.
Base Station Application:
- This also applies to mounting the antenna on other ground plane counterpoise metal such as a house/shed/building metal roof, a metal railing, etc.
The frequency shifts about 0.1 MHz with ½” change in length; increase in length lowers frequency; decrease in length raises frequency.
